One nice thing about jobs in Korea, is that you can start at almost anytime that works best for you. The reason is that previous teachers will extend contracts for various lengths that work best for them, so new starting times always vary.

Public school start times will usually be focused on the 2 semesters, starting march 1st and the end of August. Due to extensive problems for our company, and our teachers, we do not deal with public schools. I would be happy to explain in more detail if you'd like.

Normally most schools like you to come for at least a few days of paid traning before you actually start teaching. Many new jobs will start close to the beginning/end of any month.

I hope this helps!

...thanks Dan, for the reply. this helps clarify a few things.

also, ive talked to a few people, and the number of applicants is
less in Dec., because people want to stay until after Christmas/NY's.

so, maybe Dec starts are a good thing, because you can choose between more contracts, with less applicants.
