We have some excellent jobs available in Korea, with start dates from as soon as the E2 process can be completed (about a 4 week lead time), to landing in Korea the last week in February. Here is a breakdown of the main jobs at this time.
ASAP - JEL school in Gwangju. This school has fantastic work hours, from 2-8:30pm. The school, and of course your apartment, are close to the World Cup Stadium which is widely considered the nicest area of the city. The director is very nice, and he pays 2.1 million per month.
December 1st - Medium sized school in Daejeon needs 1 teacher. The hrs are from 9:30-6pm, and a maximum teaching hrs of 30 per week. My partner has worked with this school for years, with only good reports. The pay is 2.0 million won.
Dec 15th - Medium/large school in Anyang, a very nice suburb of Seoul needs 1 teacher to fill a job. This school was highly recommended to me by a friend, and I met with the supervisor 2 weeks ago. I was extremely impressed with the care this school takes in hiring their teachers. The base pay is 2.0 million won, if you don't have a teaching degree, but there is lots of easy over-time available at this school, so many teachers make considerably more money each month.
Dec 15th - Large school in Ilsan needs 2 teachers to arrive for training in Mid-December for 2 weeks of training. The teachers will receive 2.1 million won each, and single housing available. A couple would be welcome for these jobs. The actual teaching will begin Jan 2nd, but you'll be off for the week between Xmas and New Years. This school also needs 4 teachers for March.
Jan 2nd - My school in Gwangju needs 1 female, N. American teacher to teach mostly elementary classes. The co-teachers, students and supervisors are very nice at this school, so I'd recommend it to anyone.
Jan 2nd - Couple job in Mokpo - This school needs a N. American couple that is energetic and trustworthy. They provide a larger than avg apt. Mokpo is a famous fishing city, with many beautiful beaches found on the islands off the coast. The teachers will be required to teach 3 hours each Saturday, but you will receive a double year end bonus, of 4,000,000 won (plus normal salary of 2,000,000 won) on your last day!!
Jan 2nd - Medium sized school in Uijeongbu area of Seoul needs 1 male teacher to teach from 1-9pm. I have worked with this particular chain for quite awhile, and I have many happy teachers who will give positive references. Uijeongbu is surrounded by mtns, and has a beautiful river running thru the middle that has paved paths which run all the way to downtown Seoul. This job is great for anyone who likes the outdoors.
Feb 10th (arrival date) - The same school in Uijeongbu needs 4 more teachers to start training at this time, and will start the actual teaching on the first day of the new semester, March 2nd.
Feb 21st (arrival date) - A different school in Uijeongbu that was recommended by a friend as a good school, needs 4 teachers to start training Feb 21st. Some jobs will be from 9:30am - 6pm, and other teachers will work the afternoon shift, from 1-9pm.
Feb 24th (arrival date) - Incheon - This is one of the very best schools I've ever worked with. Both the director, and supervisor are female, and they run the school with a very western management style. They consult the teachers on decisions, care deeply for the students, and do whatever they can to ensure everyone is happy at the school. They also pay higher than the average to make sure they get great teachers. They need 3 teachers, and like many schools, they prefer N. American teachers.
April 1st - Gwangju couple job - I have 6 teachers at this excellent school. The apartment is a large 3 bedroom (huge by Korean standards), often over-looking the mountains close by. It is very easy to get downtown from the school/apartment area, by bus, walking, or a 2,000 won taxi ride.
All of our contracts will include, at least:
- 2.0 million won per month
- 2 weeks of paid vacation, plus national holidays
- Year end completion bonus of a month's salary
- Free, furnished studio apartment, usually within walking distance of the school.
- Free return airfare - paid in advance by the school, or Teach ESL Korea
- 50% medical insurance
- Someone to meet you at the airport, or bus station in your new city
- Ongoing support from Teach ESL Korea TEAM during your stay...and invites to the now famous "Teacher's Parties" we host throughout the year. (not done by any other recruiting company in Korea)
At Teach ESL Korea we will only provide you with honest information from day one, will not pressure you into a job that isn't right for you, will walk you through the sometimes confusing E2 Teaching Visa process, book your flights and will support you during your time in Korea. We only want to work with reliable, hardworking teachers who will take this commitment seriously from day one. All of our schools have either been recommended by friends (or current foreign teachers), or we've worked successfully with them for a number of years.
