Hi, first of all, this site is really great! Has given me a lot of info, I'm just starting looking into the process of going to Korea to teach. I have one question right now that I haven't seen the answer to anywhere.
My university diploma and transcripts all have my maiden name on them. I've since married and my ID and passports all have my new name. Will this be a problem? Would I have to change my university papers to reflect this?
Thanks for your time!!

exact same issue with my wife! Her passport, diploma, and university transcripts are all in her maiden name.

One agency I've takled with said it's best to have all documents presented to immigration in the same name - the agency reccomended we use her maiden name.

I am concerned that if we do this in her maiden name it might lead to problems later if we stay in Korea for more than one year. I mean can we later change her name for Korean purposes to my name?

Could their be difficulties with transferring money etc. to U.S. accounts when her last name has already been changed on most U.S. things?

It will not cause any problems if your name has changed, from when the documents were issued, until the date you apply. You will just need to write a note to explain the name change.

If possible, if you have an old copy of a piece of picture ID, it would be helpful.

I hope this helps you with this process.
